Hello Darlings! I hope this post catches you all doing well and having a good week. I’ve been hard at work on new art pieces as well as new fashion pieces, some custom design work, and this blog. I know it’s a lot, but I truly love all of it. Summer is soon coming to an ‘end’, and I say that lightly and in quotes because it stays hot here in Charlotte well into the fall months. Usually by October it’s getting crisp outside, but August can be one of the hottest months of the year for us. I love the feeling of autumn on the horizon, but I also love summer colors, rich floral tones, and flowing fabrics. One summer fashion staple for me are rompers (or playsuits), because they are easy to throw on, usually lightweight, and fun to wear. They can also be a great autumn transition piece when paired with a cardigan, jacket, or tights. I was so excited to find this
I have to say I love everything about this fun, feminine romper! The color is beautiful, like a pink toned lilac, and I adore the floral print and the ruffle. It’s also 30% off right now and is a very well priced $40! You can get it here. There is elastic in the waist, so its really comfortable and the back has a tie that makes it sort of adjustable. I’m wearing a size small, and I think it has a pretty generous fit. The way this is cut, however; you really need a bralette like the one I’m wearing with pretty lace or a tank top underneath if you don’t want it to be super revealing since the top has an oversized fit. I love the way this lace looks with the romper and especially the way you can see it in the back! The bralette I have on is from Victoria’s Secret, and they don’t make this exact style anymore, but I’ll link a similar one for you here. rarely shop there because they don’t sell my real bra size (my band size is hard to find), but occasionally I’ll buy the bralettes, because they don’t have to fit as ‘perfectly’. I really like this one and it was on sale!
I paired this romper with this gorgeous net style duster from HMS. I purchased this on a whim when the chainmail trend happened over the summer. I do really love it for this type of weather since it isn’t really meant to keep you warm like a normal cardigan. The rose gold color also compliments the purple in the romper well. I love the open knit weave of this cardigan, and I think its a fun fashion piece that I’ll find a lot of use for. I knit myself, just for fun, and I absolutely love knit pieces that look handmade like this one. I wanted to wear my glasses for this look because I’m getting used to wearing them for blog photos. I usually have my contacts in when I take fashion photos for you all, but most days I normally wear my glasses. I love them so much, but I’m always worried they may not compliment an outfit! Lately, though I’ve been realizing my glasses are who I am, and I should embrace them for photos! I do wear contacts if it’s super sunny out and I need to drive, or I’m somewhere where glasses would be really inconvenient (i.e. the beach). But all in all, I love my glasses. I’m a proud bookworm, and I’m starting to embrace that style. I think they look great with the print of this romper too, and I’m just learning to be confident in them! The frames I have are Tiffany &co. and I got them at Lenscrafters.
I paired this outfit with my absolute favorite platform sandals from Melissa. They are made out of silicone type plastic that is completely recyclable, have a marble print, and are just gorgeous! I would seriously wear these every day if I wasn’t so afraid of ruining them. I want to keep them as perfect and dirt free as I can. I think this little park near my house made the perfect backdrop for my photos, and I love the way the trees compliment this romper so well.
